Just a couple more...

How could you resist a couple more of this adorable little man? Including one of mom and dad so you can see where he gets his good looks from.

The New Baby in my family

Check out this little guy! He is PERFECT. I flew down to see him on Friday when he was just 4 days old. He was beautiful and so sweet. He is a first child and his parents couldn't be more in love with this little guy. These are just the first couple of pictures. I will post more later.

Cereal Collage

A week and a half ago we shot these cereal pictures. When I did it I had this collage in mind. Today I finally got around to putting them all together. I think that it is very fun! She had a blast with the huge bowl of fruit loops. Sadly it isn't an original idea and the collage is actually a template (gasp). We still had fun copying the idea.

100% BOY!!!

We did 2 year portraits of this cute little guy. His favorite thing seems to be throwing rocks! He was constantly on the go and so much fun!

Anyone want to do family pictures out in Tacoma?

Of all the times that I have been out to Point Defiance, I had never been to the logging museum. A group from a forum I frequent was supposed to meet out at the logging museum for a shoot today. Then we had 40 mile winds, rain, cold... I had a bus morning and wasn't able to check the update on the forum, so we trecked out there. I don't know if I would recommend it for a visit, but as for a place to take pictures, AWESOME! There was so much diversity for backdrops, great light, awesome textures. It was very cool. We only had about 30 minutes before it started raining again and my girls were much more in to being silly than being photographed, but we will have to go back there again.

Busy Week

I have actually had a very busy portfolio building week. Last weekend I had an engagement session and then I took pictures of some friends' ADORABLE kiddos. I also took some pictures of our church's confirmation lock-in. Then during the week I did another volunteer shoot for an awesome local charity. Today we reshot a session with a cute 2 year old. Long story short, I am getting a little behind in my editing. So what did I do today? ...had a little mini session with my youngest. I am so torn as to what I need to work on. My ADD brain is really trying hard to focus on one task and take it to completion before I start another task... So... I really want to put the pictures of my youngest in a little gridded story board. And when I get that done, I will post it. But for now, here is one of the pictures. I have realized that it looks much better in context with the other pictures than it does on its own, but oh well. Hopefully you will enjoy it anyway.

My New Prop...

I got this cool Steamer Trunk off of Craigslist. It is from the late 1800's. I had been seeing them on Craigslist for about $50, so when I saw one that was in Maple valley for $5, I jumped on it. The seller was so nice he even delivered it and then refused my $5. So it was my free find. I took a quick picture of my 10 year old in front of it as I was practicing with my studio lights.

Engagement Session

Adults that you have to tell them what to do rather than kids that you just chase and try to catch.... it was a different experience for me. We had a great time. It makes me wish that I had split sessions on back to back days, because after editing some of these pictures, there are things that I wish I would have done differently. I guess that means I am learning, and that is a good thing!
